Hydraulic seals play a vital role in the integration of hydraulic and pneumatic components. If the seals of a hydraulic and pneumatic component product are not up to standard, then this hydraulic and pneumatic component product is not a good product. There are many factors affecting seals.
First of all, pressure is an important factor affecting the quality of seals. The level of pressure and the length of pressure cycle change have a great impact on the damage of seals, such as extrusion. The higher the pressure, the greater the influence of other factors on the performance of seals, such as temperature, speed, material of seals, clearance between piston and cylinder, clearance between piston and cylinder head.
Another is temperature and friction. It is difficult to describe the maximum and minimum operating temperatures of a sealing material, because this is the result of a series of factors. The working temperatures of piston and piston rod are different, so they should be chosen differently. Another one is the surface roughness, surface characteristics, pressure, medium, temperature, sealing material, sealing type and movement speed of seals, which are all factors affecting seals.
The last one is surface treatment. Experience shows that the surface characteristics of cylinder piston and piston rod have a great impact on the life of sealing parts. Surface properties are usually defined by the value of surface roughness RA, which is the arithmetic mean of the absolute value of surface shape deviating from the center line. However, these values can not fully express the effect of surface conditions on seals, because even under the same roughness, different surface shape characteristics can lead to different degrees of wear and tear of seals.
